Therese Klompenhouwer of the Netherlands, the 2014 reigning world champion in Ladies 3-Cushion Billiards has won her second title at the 2016 tournament held in Guri Korea. Klompenhouwer went undefeated, winning all six of her matches and achieving a grand average of 1.122. Along the way she twice defeated 3-time former champion Orie Hida of Japan and ultimately, in the final match, young Korean player Mee Rae Lee to take the title.

A total of 64 international and domestic players will compete at the fifth BTV-Becamex IJD International Three-cushion Billiards Carom Tournament, scheduled in Binh Duong province in Vietnam August 19-21.

Capping a tournament where Jeremy Bury went undefeated at 6-0 in the qualification stage, and 5-2 in the second phase to move into the finals, the French star signaled he is now a player to contend with on the International stage. Jeremy Bury came to Carom Cafe in New York determined to erase all his second place finishes of the past. And that he did, by taking the 2016 Verhoeven Open title. Along the way, Bury beat some of the best players in the world.

In the fourth installment of the World Cup series sponsored by the Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB), 150 players from around the world assembled in Portugal to do battle. Taking place from July 18-24 in the city of Porto and organized by the venerable sports organization FC Porto, the event was attended by the world's best including the honored position of the top twelve on the UMB rankings: Frédéric Caudron, Torbjörn Blomdahl, Eddy Merckx, Dick Jaspers, Dani Sánchez, Marco Zanetti, Tayfun Tasdemir, Roland Forthomme, Sameh Sidhom, Dong Koong Kang, Jae Ho Cho and Nikos Polychronopoulos. And it was Caudron again who prevailed matching his victory in Ho Chi Minh City earlier this year.
