Torbjorn Blomdahl, at 53, has once again reached another milestone at the top of world 3-cushion billiards, winning both the Supercup in Antwerp Belgium and being named Player of the Year. The Swedish champion himself said, "This was my best year ever."

Venezuelan billiard star Miguel Labrador has won the National Championship in his country for the third time. In the 21st installment of the event, Labrador led the field to accomplish his 3rd 3-cushion national title.

The Netherlands Dick Jaspers and Jean van Erp topped the field in Viersen Germany in the annual UMB World Three-Cushion Championship for National Teams. Twenty-four two-man teams from 21 countries participated this year, with three countries - Belgium, Germany and Turkey fielding two teams. The United States did not send a team this cycle. Three times World 3-Cushion Champion Dani Sanchez has won his 18th National Championship of Spain. The dominant player for almost two decades in his country also set the record for high run in the event at 23 and finished with another record for best overall average of 2.247.
