World Champion Dick Jaspers of the Netherlands defeated Frederic Caudron of Belgium to win the final UMB world cup of 2018. The event was held in Hurghada, Egypt December 2-8, 2018. With his defeat Caudron ceded the number one ranking he had held for 13 months. Jaspers joy was unbounded as he finished one of his greatest years ever as a professional 3-cushion billiard player - ending as world champion and world number one!

LAUSANNE - The Olympic stronghold Lausanne was the stage for the annual event with world class players in three cushion from November 22-25. The Belgian Eddy Merckx won the Lausanne Billard Masters in the final against Turk Murat Naci Coklu. This same week billiards presented itself as a candidate for the Olympic Games in 2024 in Paris. The promotional tour is in full swing, also on sporting level with all the major international tournaments.

One of the world's best continues to demonstrate his fierce competitive spirit. On the final day of the 2018 Seoul World Cup Belgium's Eddy Merckx defeated world champion Dick Jaspers in his semi-final round and followed that with a win over former world champion Filippos Kasidokostas of Greece to take the title. The event had many exciting and dramatic moments including a high run of 24 by Myung Woo Cho, and the incredible performance of Bong Chul Kim who reached the semi-finals having entered in the pre-pre-qualification round.
