Pedro Piedrabuena is the 2017 USBA 3-Cushion National Champion after impressing both players and spectators alike at the national championship tournament with a nearly flawless performance. Undefeated throughout the preliminaries and the finals, Pedro demonstrated his world-class skill and concentration at the table - an inspiration to all the players. Whether facing a C-Player or one of the five former champions, Pedro brought his A-Game to every match. The USBA is extremely proud that Pedro will be representing the USA at the 2017 UMB World Championship to be held November 1-5 in La Paz, Bolivia.

Towson, Maryland (May 10, 2017) - The United States Billiard Association (USBA) is proud to introduce McDermott Cue as an official cue sponsor of the USBA.
“We are very excited to begin this new partnership with McDermott,” said USBA president Mazin Shooni. “McDermott is one of the top cue-makers in the world. Their recent debut of a cue line designed specifically for carom billiards made McDermott a natural fit to partner with us and promote the game.” The USBA is the governing body for the sport of carom billiards in the United States holding the annual 3-cushion national championship and sending players to International events around the world. As a non-profit organization, the USBA relies on sponsors like McDermott for their generous support.

Houston player Ahmet Ozan has won the USBA National Qualifying Tournament held at Goodays Billiards on April 9. A small field was nonetheless very competitive and two games including the decisive final match were settled by one carom. Pedro Piedrabuena, of San Diego, is the winner of the 2017 California Classic held at Edgie’s Billiards in Milpitas, California March 31 - April 2. The native of Uruguay and 8-time US National Champion claimed the $3,500 first place prize. Anh Nguyen, of Vietnam, placed second and won $2,900 while Miguel Almaraz, of Mexico, placed third and took home $2,400.
